Master Class: Preventing and Troubleshooting Workflow Issues
ABOUT THIS MASTER CLASS
This session is designed for SimpliGov Designers, Admins, and Support/CS team members who help implement and sustain workflows. We’ll walk through the full lifecycle of a workflow—from early discovery through long-term maintenance—focusing on practical techniques that reduce rework, prevent common configuration mistakes, and speed up troubleshooting.
What we’ll cover:
- While Gathering Requirements: How to capture the right process details up front (roles, routing rules, exceptions, data needs, notifications, and reporting) so the build matches real-world operations.
- Best Practices while Building: Recommended patterns for form design, stage structure, assignments/permissions, conditional logic, validations, and naming conventions to keep workflows scalable and easy to support.
- Quick Testing Tips & Tricks: Efficient ways to validate routing, permissions, calculations, emails, and edge cases—plus how to spot issues early before pilot or launch.
- During Maintenance (Common User Errors): The most frequent end-user and admin issues (submission problems, missing tasks, access/role confusion, edit restrictions, and “where did my request go?” scenarios) and how to resolve them quickly.
- Resources: Where to find platform documentation, internal standards, and repeatable checklists/templates to support ongoing success.
